Terms and Conditions

Last updated 11 October 2026

These terms apply to everyone who uses SQE Forum ("we", "us", "the site"), including students, members, tutors, lecturers and course providers. By creating an account or using the site you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use SQE Forum.

1. About SQE Forum

This site is owned and operated by Pyrolondon LTD, trading as SQE Forum, the seller ("we", "us"). You contract with Pyrolondon LTD for access to the service. SQE Forum is an independent revision and study community for candidates preparing for the Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE1 and SQE2), with subject notes, practice questions, mock assessments, discussion rooms, reels, tutoring, lectures, courses, news and career advertisements. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by or acting for the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) or Kaplan. Our content is for revision only and is not legal advice. Always check the current SRA assessment specification and primary sources.

2. Accounts

  • You must be at least 18 and give accurate, up to date details. If acting for an organisation, you must have authority to bind it. Keep your login secure; you are responsible for activity on your account.
  • One person per account. Do not share membership access.
  • We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms (see section 9). You can appeal any suspension from your Account standing page.

3. Free access and membership

  • After the free first month, free accounts can answer 5 practice questions and send 3 messages to The Clerk each day, preview the first 3 notes and reels in each list, and join discussion rooms.
  • Membership costs £20 per month (including VAT where applicable), billed monthly in advance, and unlocks unlimited practice, full notes, mock papers, downloads, private messages, gifts and reel posting.
  • New accounts get full membership free for the first month after sign up. No card is needed and you are not charged when it ends; you simply return to the free tier unless you choose to subscribe.
  • If you choose to subscribe during your free month, checkout shows the first payment date and the free period before billing begins. Check these details before confirming. Tutoring, paid lectures, paid courses and gifts are separate purchases and are not included in the free month or membership fee.
  • Membership renews automatically until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from your billing settings; you keep access until the end of the month you have paid for and will not be charged again.
  • Cancelling stops future payments only. It does not refund the month you have already paid for: you simply keep full access until that paid month ends, then return to the free tier.
  • If a renewal payment fails, you keep access for a 3-day grace period while the payment is retried. Access pauses if payment is still not received.
  • Membership, notes, questions, mocks, courses and lectures are digital content delivered to your account immediately when you join, subscribe or buy. Access begins straight away and is not dependent on anything being posted to you.
  • Cancellation stops future renewals; requesting a refund is a separate process. Our Refund Policy explains how to request one. Nothing in these terms reduces your statutory rights.

4. Payments

Payments are processed by our payment provider. We never see or store your full card details. Prices are shown in pounds sterling and include VAT where applicable.

Payment processing, billing, applicable taxes, subscription renewals and cancellation and refund mechanics are handled at checkout by our payment provider. The price, billing frequency and any trial are shown at checkout. For payment support, use the contact form on this site or reply to your order receipt.

5. Platform fee: 15% of all earnings and gifts

SQE Forum retains a 15% platform fee on every amount paid through the site to another user, including:

  • private tutoring sessions (online or in person);
  • live lecture tickets and replays;
  • paid courses sold in the course marketplace;
  • gifts sent to other users, tutors, lecturers or creators.

The recipient receives the remaining 85%. The fee supports payment processing, hosting, verification, moderation and support. Sales and your share are shown on Earnings and withdrawals. You are responsible for your own tax affairs.

Withdrawals: paid one month in arrears

  • Earnings can only be withdrawn through the site, from the Earnings and withdrawals page, to a UK bank account in your name. We do not pay out by any other means.
  • Each sale becomes available to withdraw 30 days after the date of the sale (one month in arrears). The minimum withdrawal is £10, and you may have one withdrawal in progress at a time.
  • We aim to send requested withdrawals within 5 working days and may hold or decline a withdrawal where we reasonably suspect fraud, a breach of these terms, or where details are incorrect; declined amounts return to your balance.

Refunds are deducted from the seller

  • If a buyer is refunded, or a chargeback is made, for a session, lecture ticket, course or gift, your 85% share of that sale is removed from your balance. The 15% platform fee is not charged to you on refunded sales.
  • If the refund happens after you have already withdrawn that money, your balance may become negative. The negative amount is recovered from your future earnings before any further withdrawal, and we may ask you to repay it if no further earnings arise.

6. Tutors, lecturers and course providers

  • You must provide truthful qualifications, experience, CV, references and photo ID. We may verify these, contact your referees, and refuse or remove listings at our discretion.
  • Courses and lessons must be approved before publication and must be your own work or properly licensed. Learners take courses inside SQE Forum; do not direct learners to pay outside the site.
  • You set your own prices. You must deliver sessions, lectures and courses as described, start on time and treat learners professionally.
  • If you cancel a paid session or lecture, the learner is refunded in full automatically and the sale is reversed.

7. Bookings, tickets and refunds

  • Unpaid booking requests are held for a short time and then released.
  • All refunds are handled under our Refund Policy.

8. Your content

You keep ownership of what you post (messages, reels, comments, voice notes, reviews, course materials). You give us a non exclusive licence to host, display and distribute it on SQE Forum so the service can work. Reviews must reflect your genuine experience as an enrolled learner.

You must have the rights to any content you upload or submit, including prompts, images, recordings and teaching materials, and the permissions of anyone whose personal information appears in it. Subject to third party rights, we do not claim ownership of your inputs or your rights in responses you receive from The Clerk; responses may not be unique or eligible for copyright protection. You are responsible for how you use them.

SQE Forum and its licensors retain ownership of the service's software, documentation, branding and study content. Your plan gives you a limited, personal, non exclusive, non transferable right to use it for revision, not to resell or distribute it. Rights holders can report an allegedly infringing post using its report control, identifying the work and the content concerned. We may remove disputed content and suspend accounts for repeated infringement.

9. Community rules

SQE Forum is built on dignity and respect. You must not post or send:

  • racist, discriminatory or hateful content, slurs, harassment, bullying or threats;
  • sexual content, spam, scams or advertising for off site payment;
  • other people's personal information, or exam content you are not permitted to share;
  • anything unlawful or that infringes someone else's rights.

Content may be screened and members can report it. We may remove or restrict content, refuse or filter responses, pause posting, suspend or terminate access for material breaches, non payment, security or fraud risks, or repeated or serious policy violations. You can appeal moderation decisions for review by a moderator.

10. Acceptable use

Do not unlawfully use the service, commit fraud, send spam, infringe intellectual property, distribute malware, probe security, scrape content, reverse engineer software or bypass access limits or safety controls. Do not use The Clerk to create unlawful or hateful content, deceptive impersonations or deepfakes, exploitative sexual content or malicious code. Keep confidential client information and restricted live exam material out of prompts and posts.

11. Exam results

Readiness scores and progress statistics are guidance only. We do not guarantee that you will pass the SQE or any assessment.

Notes, questions, citations and The Clerk's responses can be incomplete, out of date or inaccurate. Verify outputs and sources yourself. They are not a substitute for legal or other regulated professional advice or appropriate professional oversight. Certificates record course completion, not admission as a solicitor or an accredited SQE qualification.

12. Liability

We provide the site with reasonable care and skill, but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error free performance. To the extent permitted by law we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability to you is limited to the amounts you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing excludes liability for fraud, death or personal injury caused by negligence, liability that cannot lawfully be limited, or your statutory rights as a consumer.

13. News and career advertisements

News, jobs, training contracts and apprenticeships may be submitted for review before publication. Advertisers must be authorised to represent the employer or organisation and provide accurate, lawful, non discriminatory information and a legitimate application link. Approval is not an endorsement or guarantee of a job, training place, eligibility or employer suitability. Applications take place on the linked employer site, under its own terms and privacy notice. Do not upload candidate applications or sensitive candidate information to public listings. We may reject, correct or remove misleading, expired or unsafe advertisements.

14. Ending your account

You can edit your profile, change your password and request account deletion in Account settings. Cancel any recurring membership before deleting your account; deletion alone is not a refund request. When access ends, you lose access to restricted content and features. Data retention and any rights to access or obtain a copy of your personal data are described in our Privacy Policy.

15. Changes

We may update these terms. We will give notice of material changes on the site or by email. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept them.

16. Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory consumer protections and rights to bring proceedings in your home jurisdiction.

17. Related policies and payment support

Read our Privacy Policy and Refund Policy alongside these terms. Payment, billing and refund enquiries can be made through the contact form on this site or by replying to your order receipt. Community reports and moderation appeals can be submitted through the relevant report control and Appeals page.
